Help Us Help Breast Cancer Patients
Pink Ladies Club
Beginning December 7th we will be starting a program called the "Pink Ladies Club" to help women who are fighting breast cancer. Breast
cancer is one of the few cancers whose chemotherapy results in the loss of hair. The newly bald head proves to be another battle in the war on cancer. During therapy patient's body temperatures are lower than normal and having no hair does not aide in thermoregulation!
A pattern for a cap has been developed to help with the thermoregulation and comfort. We are sewing the caps at the store every Friday beginning in Decmber. This cap is lined with flannel to rest softly against the bare skin and filled with batting to provide fullness to the head. Come join us in sending comfort to local patients fighting breast cancer. We are offering a 30% discount to those items purchased specifically for this project. Instruction is provided and you may call the store to check if there are any class machines you may use. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Show your support by wearing your own embroidered Pink Ribbon. Bernina has provided an embroidery design here.
We're still piecing blocks for the Quilt Pink Campaign and have received the Quilt Pink magazine with survivor stories and quilt patterns.

Quilting Pink for Breast Cancer Research
Beginning Saturday September 8 and continuing till the end of this month we will be participating in the Quilt Pink campaign. We'll each sew a block with pink fabric then create a quilt. After we are done with our quilts we will send them off to American Patchwork and Quilting for auction. All proceeds from the auction are donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Please bring your pink fabric (or purchase some Quilt Pink 2 (Moda) fabric at the store), sewing machines and all other necessary equipment for you to sew a block.
Come participate and enjoy the camaraderie. It's always fun to sew in a group and do good at the same time. We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer.
